Jimmy D. Rakestraw, 74, of Jacksonville passed away Sunday, January 5, 2014. He served in the United States Navy, was a member of the Indian Head Lake Baptist Church and had a strong Christian faith. He is survived by his wife of 15 years, Stella Rakestraw; Brother: David L. Rakestraw (Mireille), of Hawaii; Daughters: Lisa Brown of North Little Rock, Trica Frazier (Warren), of Little Rock; Son: David Rakestraw (Angela), of Cabot; Stepdaughters: Linda Kennedy (Roger) and Carol Allen (Charles) all of Jacksonville; many Grandchildren and Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Jean Rakestraw; Infant Twin Brother; parents, Barney and Cora Lee Rakestraw; Sister, Mary Davenport and Brother, Barney Rakestraw. Jimmy enjoyed crafts, camping, cooking, telling jokes and making people laugh. He was a very kind man and he never met a stranger. The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Little Rock Veterans Administration Hospital for their care. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Bowien officiating. Burial will be at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
