Audrey Vernell "Nell" Quinnelly passed away at home in Shalimar, Fla. on January 4, 2014. Nell was born on September 26, 1935 to Aubrey and Irene (Gresset) McPheeters of Meridian, MS. Nell had a long and prosperous career as a classified ad salesperson for the Arkansas Democrat newspaper and then retired at the Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, Fla. where she spent most of her time doing volunteer work. Nell loved to travel and when she married Sam Quinnelly that love was fulfilled with his military appointments to the Philippines and Japan. Nell was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, her parents Aubrey and Irene McPheeters and her only sister, Ethel Reede, as well as her beloved granddaughter, Sarah Nation. She is survived by her children, Cynthia (Mike) Quinnelly of Winchester, Va., Susan (Bill) Nation of Freeport, Fla. and Kenn (Debbie) Quinnelly of Heber Springs, Ark. In addition to her children she is also survived by her grandchildren: Josh and Rachel Benson, Jennifer and Ryan Quinnelly and Rachel Quinnelly. Nell also had two great-grandchildren: Jaden Benson and Hayden Kerns. As per Nell's wishes there will be a memorial service at the Bob Hope Village in Shalimar, Fla. and a burial service at Moore Funeral Home in Jacksonville, Ark. Visitation will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 10, 2014 at the funeral home. Funeral service will take place at 2 p.m. at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501) 982-2136. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bob Hope Village in care of the Enlisted Air Force Village, 92 Sunset Lane, Shalimar, Fla. 32579.
