Oscar (Buddy) Derrington, Jr. of Little Rock, Arkansas was born November 7, 1933 in Houston, Texas, the son of the late Oscar and Golda Derrington. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He served in the United States Air Force and was retired from Arkansas Best Freight. He was a Mason and a member of Dayton Lodge #825, Dayton, Texas and Roland Lodge #508, Little Rock, Arkansas. He served as Worshipful Master at both lodges. He was a member of the Scottish Rite, the York Rite and the Eastern Star. In addition to hunting and fishing; one of Buddy's favorite hobbies was woodworking. Over the years he made many handcrafted items for friends and family. Mr. Derrington died Sunday, January 5, 2014 at his home at the age of 80. In addition to his parents, a sister and brother, he was preceded in death by his wife Lois M. Derrington. Survivors include his daughters, Jackie and her husband Robie Robertson of Thicket, Texas and Kimberly Clark of Maumelle, five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 11, 2014, at First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 N. Mississippi, Little Rock, with Dr. Jim Daniels officiating. Entombment will follow at Pincrest Mausoleum. Visitation will be Friday from 5-8 p.m. at Griffin Leggett Healey and Roth, 501-661-9111. Memorials may be made to Roland Lodge #508.
