Robert F. Overman

R.F. "Bob" Overman, better known as the Candyman, 90, of North Little Rock passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014. He was born in Detroit, MI to the late Robert Roy and Rose Overman. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 61 years, Maxine Myrick Overman; sisters and brothers. Bob was a U. S. Army Veteran and a Purple Heart recipient. He was an avid sportsman. He was a collector of Banks. Traveling Arkansas did a story of his banks. He retired in his 80's. He loved stock car racing and was the Pit Steward at the I-30 Raceway for 31 years. He loved playing Santa Claus and mostly loved his family. He is survived by his children, Robert A. Overman (Donna) of Lonoke and Gay Lynn Barker (Darrell) of North Little Rock; five grandchildren, Eddie and Troy Barker and Philip, Michael, and Sean Overman; and five great-grandchildren. Bob will be missed by all who knew him. Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel,, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400) with Reverend Mike Danchenko officiating. Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Tuesday, January 14, 2014 at the funeral home.
