Martha Rose Maranto Feurtado

Martha Rose Maranto Feurtado, 83, of Little Rock, went to be with her heavenly Father on Tuesday, January 14, 2014. She was born on December 19, 1930, in Marshall, Texas, where she grew up and married her husband of 63 years Earl W. Feurtado Jr. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Cosmos and Edith Irene Maranto. She is survived by her husband; a son, Earl W. Feurtado, III, and wife Margaret of Little Rock; a daughter, Sharon Purcell and husband Melvin of Garland, Texas; five grandchildren, Steven Purcell, Stephanie Duke, Philip Feurtado, Shelby Feurtado and Matthew Feurtado; five great-grandchildren, Branden Purcell, Brittney Purcell, Mallory Purcell, Lily Purcell and Willow Duke; and her sister, Carolyn Ford and husband, David, of Uncertain, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Feurtado was a faithful member of Little Rock First Nazarene Church for 46 years, teaching kindergarten and serving on the mission's council. She was employed as a secretary for National Termite and Pest Control Company for 25 years, enjoyed gardening, sewing, cross stitch, and traveling with her husband across America in their travel trailer. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, January 18, with visitation beginning at 12 noon at First Church of the Nazarene, 1200 North Mississippi, Little Rock, 72207. Burial will be at Forest Hills Memorial Park in Alexander. If desired, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Martha Feurtado's name to the Nazarene Compassionate Ministries c/o First Church of the Nazarene.
