Duane Allen

Duane Allen, 75, of Little Rock, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2014. He was born February 3, 1938 in Audubon County, Iowa to the late Myron C. Allen and Lillian Bertha Kraft Allen. He was a member of East Union Missionary Baptist Church for 17 years. He was also a member of the Independent Order of Oddfellows in Iowa. He owned and operated a family farm in Iowa. In the late 70's, early 80's he moved to south Missouri, then to north Arkansas where he began work in the mobile home transportation business. He loved the outdoors, riding horses, watching football, hunting, camping and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Sammie Allen; two sons, Mark Allen (Sheila) of Iowa; Kevin Allen (Julia) of Missouri; daughters, Margo Starr of Iowa; Carolyn Martin (Terry) of Little Rock; Dana Johnson (Rusty) of Little Rock; grandchildren, Allie, Grant, Ruston of Arkansas; Courtney, Justin, Bridgette, Beth, Dalton of Iowa; Dakota, Tripton of Missouri; sisters, Carolyn Seely (Ross) of Iowa; Donna Schmidt of Colorado; special nephew, Ronnie Carper of Iowa; and great-grandchildren, Tatem and Brayden. Funeral services will be 10 a.m., Monday, January 20, 2014 at East Union Missionary Baptist Church, 20422 N. Springlake Road, Hensley, Arkansas with Bro. Paul Roberts officiating. Interment to follow at Salem Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to I Can Arts and Resource Center, 1040 Angel Court, Little Rock, Arkansas 72206.
