David Earl Walker Sr.

Dr. David Earl Walker Sr., 65, passed away on Jan. 15, 2014. He was born Feb. 11, 1948, in Pine Bluff, Ark., the son of Lee William Walker Sr. and the late Lois Vivian Davis Walker. Dr. Walker was a graduate of Townsend Park High School (1964) and Arkansas AM&N College (1968) (now UAPB). He earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree in 1974 from Meharry Medical College School of Dentistry in Nashville, Tenn. Dr. Walker returned to Pine Bluff in 1976, where he practiced dentistry until his death, serving also as Dental Director at Jefferson Comprehensive Care Center. At the time of his death, he had served on the Arkansas State Board of Dental Examiners for more than 15 years. He is survived by his devoted wife, Dr. Jewell Mitchell Walker; six children, Dr. David Walker Jr., Brian Walker, Dr. Torrance Walker, Lori Walker-Woolfolk, Adrienne Richard, and Karl Walker; father, Lee Walker Sr.; brother, Dr. Lee Walker Jr.; aunt, Jerusha Davis Hobbs; and fourteen grandchildren. Visitation/Family Hour will be Monday, 5:30-7 p.m., Brown Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at St. James U.M.C., Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at 11 a.m. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery by Brown Funeral Home of Pine Bluff.
