Elizabeth "Allene" Dacus

Elizabeth "Allene" Dacus of Bryant, Ark. went to be with the Lord on Friday, Jan. 17, 2014. She was born July 31, 1943 in Hot Springs, Ark. to the late Alvin Elvert Caudell and Lillie Pearl Thomason-Caudell. Allene loved her savior, Jesus, and spent most of her time in prayer and studying the Holy Bible. She longed to be home with Him and loved talking about His soon return. She worshiped Him with her piano playing and by writing hundreds of songs praising Him. She instilled in her children a strong foundation of faith and the certainty of being together in eternity. She loved her family deeply. She chose to be a home-maker and raise her children. Her children know they were loved and that she was always ready to support them, tend to their needs, hurts, trials, and fight for them. When her physical health would not allow her to be present, her children knew she was talking to the Lord on their behalf. She enjoyed watching football and basketball with her husband. They spent many hours watching and rooting for the Razorbacks and other SEC conference teams. She loved traveling with her husband and in the last several years they were able to see the ocean, Grand Canyon, Petrified Forest, Canada, and Niagara Falls. They often reminisced about these trips and the memories will not be forgotten. She is survived by her faithful and devoted husband of 43 years, James "Jim" Dacus; son, David Terry (Holly); daughters, Donna Sanchez and Dana Ray (Wayne) all of Bryant; grandchildren, Faith Terry, M'Kenna Moore, Josh Terry, and Austin Sanchez; great grandson, Garrett Poirier; sister, Alta Jackson of Hot Springs, Ark.; Audrey Reighard (Mark) of Oklahoma; brothers, Alvin "Bud" Caudell (Kathy) of Hot Springs, Ark.; Gene Caudell (Monna) of Indiana. Memorial service will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, Jan. 20, 2014 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Ark. 72209, (501) 455-5800.
