Linda Irwin Martin

Linda Irwin Martin, 80, of Fort Myers, Fla. lost her battle with cancer Dec. 25, 2013. She is formerly of Heber Springs, Mountain View, Pine Bluff and Hot Springs, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Earnie Martin; and her parents, Moody and Irene (Allison) Irwin; and brother, Joel Irwin all of Heber Springs. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Jim Martin of Cape Coral, Fla. Most of Linda's life was spent in Pine Bluff where she was active in many community and charity organizations. She was also active with the local medical assistant's association and with the Sahara Shrine Center when her husband Earnie served as Potentate. After Linda retired from medical office management, the couple moved to Hot Springs and later relocated to Florida. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Hot Springs and an Ambassador for the Greater Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce. For many years Linda was active in the Arkansas Democratic Party and most recently in the Highlands County, Fla. Democratic Party. She was also a Highlands County hospital volunteer and served in various positions on the board of directors for her neighborhood association.
