Verna Lee Potts, 84, of Alexander, passed away Friday, Jan. 17, 2014. She was born Nov. 10, 1929 in Little Rock to the late Garvis Earl and Flonnie Irene Yarbrough Freeman. She was a member of New Beginnings Bible Church. Verna Lee was a prayer warrior for everyone around her. She took care of everyone that was in need, spiritually or physically. She loved to sing and had numerous friends all over the country. She enjoyed the outdoors and traveling. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She is survived by sons, Phillip Potts of Haskell, Tommy (Carolyn) Potts of Greenbrier and Thomas (Brenda) Potts of Mayflower; daughter, Frankie (Rusty) Rivers of Alexander; grandchildren, Faith, Jennifer, Samantha, Troy, Amanda, Ashley, Kaylee, David and Laura; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; brother, Jimmy Freeman of Texarkana, Ark.; sisters, Rose Wilson of Bridgman, Mich., Flora Branch and Kathryn McBee both of Lonsdale. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frankie "Buddy" Potts. Memorials may be made to New Beginnings Bible Church, 23450 N Sardis Road, Mabelvale, Ark. 72103. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at New Beginnings Bible Church. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery.
