MRS. CLEO EDDIE JACKSON ELSTON went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2014. She was born in Bluefield, W. Va. to Paul and Chassie Jackson on Aug. 19, 1913 and celebrated her 100th birthday last summer with loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thierry; father, Paul; mother, Chassie; sisters, Leona, Vanory, Paula; and brothers, Wendell and Chauncey. Cleo was an active member of Bethel AME in Little Rock until illness prevented her from continuing. She was an active member of the Bethel AME Usher Board for 55 consecutive years and served in various leadership positions in the church. Service will be held at Bethel AME Church, 815 West 16th St., Little Rock on Tuesday, Jan. 21 at 11 a.m. The family hour will be at Premier Funeral Home at 1518 S. Battery St., Little Rock on Monday, Jan. 20 at 5:30 p.m.
