Martha Maye Freeman Harris, 85, died January 21, 2014 at Hickory Heights Nursing Home in Little Rock. She was born October 20, 1928 in Clark County, Arkansas to Lawrence Vernon and Addie Jane Hughes Freeman. She was a member of Our Lady of the Holy Souls Catholic Church in Little Rock. She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca "Becca" Harris Frazeur and son-in-law, Wendell "Wynn," and grandchildren, Shannon Rayne Frazeur and Shaun Harris Frazeur, all of Little Rock; and twin sister, Faye Barnard of Vilonia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Farris "Fritz" Harris; sisters, Patricia and Dorothea; and brothers, Elton and Hugh. Martha – who was known as Maye by her family and Meeme by her grandchildren – grew up near Curtis and graduated from Arkadelphia High School. She attended Ouachita Baptist College before joining her twin sister in the big city of Little Rock. She married Fritz Harris on September 10, 1948 and worked for many years as a secretary in the social services department of St. Vincent Infirmary. She loved crosswords, crochet, ladybugs, dogs, reading, and most of all, her daughter and grandchildren. Services will be Friday, January 24 at 11 a.m. at Holy Souls Catholic Church, with interment in the Holy Souls Columbarium. The family asks that, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Arkansas Hospice or a charity of one's choice.
