Frances Elizabeth "Betty" Bays

Frances Elizabeth (Betty) Bays, 86, of Crossett, formerly of El Dorado, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, in El Dorado after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born August 4, 1927, in Ashley County, to parents William and Bessie Watson. Elizabeth was a member of North Crossett First Baptist Church and loved to cook, garden, and spend time with family and friends. She is survived by daughters, Becky Glasgow (Gary), Jaynie Swager (Tim); one son, Bobby Bays (Jo Lynn); grandchildren, Clay Glasgow, Dana Glasgow Morgan, Jennifer and Elizabeth Bays, Lauren, Rebecca, Erik, Emily, Amber, and Daniel Swager; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Cynthia Ann Hollis, and Alice Swilley; and one brother, Thomas Watson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 67 years, T. M. Bays, three brothers, James Watson, Cornelius Watson, and David Watson; and a grandson, Jonathan Swager. Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Friday, January 24, at Medders Funeral Home, Crossett, Arkansas, with Rev. Robin Allen and Rev. Gary Glasgow officiating followed by an interment at Crossroads Cemetery under the direction of Medders Funeral Home. Visitation will be 30 minutes prior to funeral service.
