William L. "Jack" Hurdle

William L. "Jack" Hurdle of North Little Rock, Ark., formerly of Marshall County, Miss., and Memphis, Tenn., died on January 21, 2014, at the age of 90. Jack was a member of First United Methodist Church in North Little Rock. He was a veteran of World War II, having served in both the European and Pacific theatres of operation. Jack worked for International Harvester Company in several locations prior to his retirement in 1981. He is survived by his wife (his "Sweetheart"), the former Betty Lou Sutton, two children, Sherri Wright and Steve Hurdle (Debbie), and three grandchildren, Sam Wright, Tom Hurdle and Anna Hurdle. Jack was looking forward to adding a granddaughter, Heather Jackson, and a great-granddaughter, Elizabeth Miller, to his family at his grandson, Sam's wedding in June. Visitation will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, January 25, at the Holly Springs Funeral Home in Holly Springs, Mississippi. Funeral services will follow at 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Slayden Cemetery in Slayden, Mississippi. A memorial reception to celebrate Jack's life will be held at a later date in North Little Rock, Arkansas.
