Raymond Gilbert Ramsey

Dr. Raymond Gilbert Ramsey, age 81, of Little Rock, passed away on Wednesday, January 22, 2014, at Hospice Home Care Inpatient Unit. He was born on July 15, 1932, in Little Rock, Arkansas to the late Raymond and Estelle (Sossamon) Ramsey White. Raymond married Mary Sue Godfrey in Little Rock, Arkansas, on August 21, 1953. They had two children. He attended University of Arkansas School of Pharmacy and graduated in 1961 with a Doctoral in Pharmacy. He was a preceptor for Pharmacy students at UAMS. He had worked for Petty's Drug Store (more recently USA Drug). Raymond was a deacon of Little Rock's First Baptist Church, and served in many capacities over the years. He enjoyed running for many years; and loved classical music and opera. Raymond will be remembered by his loving wife and their children: Melinda Kaye Ramsey of Little Rock, Ramona Suzanne Griffith and husband John Griffith of Little Rock, Arkansas. Visitation will be 2 p.m. – 4 p.m., Sunday, January 26, 2014, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth. Burial will be 9:30 a.m., Monday, at Pine Crest Memorial Park; with a Celebration of Raymond's life at 11 a.m., at Little Rock's First Baptist Church.
