Charles Edward Runyon

Hot Springs, AR, 1949 - 2014

Charles Edward (Chuck) Runyon, 64, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed on January 26, 2014. He was born to Verba Runyon and the late Charles Thomas Runyon, November 22, 1949, in Piggott, Ark. Chuck received a bachelor's degree in accounting from Arkansas State University in 1971 and a master's degree in accounting from Memphis State University in 1974. He married Nancy Runyon in 1971, and they lived in Memphis and Lexington, Tenn., and in Jonesboro and Hot Springs, Ark. He was a member of the Church of Christ.
Chuck served in the Army in Germany for two years. He worked as a CPA in private and public accounting, including Jordan, Woosley, Crone, and Keaton in Hot Springs, and most recently at Lindsey and Company, Inc. in Searcy, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Runyon of Hot Springs; three sons and daughters-in-law, Brad and Emily Runyon of Little Rock, Ark., Jeff and Sara Runyon of Hot Springs, Ark., and Steven and Melissa Runyon of Benton, Ark.; four granddaughters, Isabella and Hannah Runyon and Samantha and Alexia Runyon. He is also survived by his mother, Verba Runyon of Piggott, Ark., his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Donald Wells of Greenway, Ark., and many other friends and relatives.
A memorial service and reception will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 28, 2014, at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs. The family requests that any memorials be made to Arkansas Hospice. Guest register at www.grossfuneralhome.com.
