Ray Allen Huckaby, 82, of Conway, Arkansas passed away on January 28, 2014 at St. Vincent's in Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his sister, Mildred Calloway, his brother, Reverend Charles Huckaby and sister-in-law, Patsy Huckaby, and his brother Jimmy Don Huckaby, all of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Born to Reverend R.O. and Vera Huckaby in Griffith Springs, Arkansas on February 4, 1931, Ray became a licensed contractor and real estate agent who built numerous residential homes and commercial nursing home facilities in the state of Arkansas. He owned and operated nursing homes for 35 years before his retirement. The last five years, he enjoyed his retirement as a resident of Heritage Living Center in Conway. A devout member of the Eastside Pentecostal Church of Pine Bluff, Ray is a former Sunday School Superintendent and lay speaker who was passionate about his faith and promoting the works of a gracious God. "Papa Ray", as he was known to all, was a jovial, happy man, with a hand to hold, a pat on the back, and a contagious smile for all who crossed his path. He was a calm man, a family man, a businessman, and the best Papa anyone could have been blessed to have. He is survived by his wife of 45 years and love of his life, Mabel Huett Rollins Huckaby of Conway; sister Betty Ruth Thomas (Harold) of Little Rock; sons Billy Huckaby of Little Rock and Calvin Rollins (Nancy F) of Cabot; daughters Linda Webb (Jimmy) of Wright, Marcia Lybrand (Joey) of Pine Bluff, and Kaye Henderson (Emmitt) of Hot Springs, Ark./St. Petersburg, Fla.; grandchildren Bryan Adams (Christy) of Conway, Brandon Adams (Brandi) of Jonesboro, Amy Rollins of Cabot, Amanda Kincade (Ken) of Cabot, Janna White (Jason) of El Cerrito, California, Julie Pelino (Mike) of Los Angeles, California, Kevin Ray of Searcy, Spencer and Emma Kate Lybrand of Pine Bluff, and John Webb of Pine Bluff; great-grandchildrenm, Spencer and Skylar Wilson and Taylor and Blaze Adams of Conway, Blakely, Barrett and Sarah Adams of Jonesboro, Jackson, Clayton and Hudson Kincade of Cabot, Nadine, Nora and Naomi Pelino of Los Angeles, California, Asher Acosta of Cabot, and Sonny White of El Cerrito, California. Visitation will be held at Harris Funeral Home in Morrilton, Arkansas at 10 a.m. on Friday morning, January 31, 2014. A Chapel Service will follow at 11 a.m., with a graveside service at Kilgore Cemetery in Birdtown, Arkansas immediately following. Pallbearers include Barrett Adams, Jackson Kincade, Spencer Wilson, Skylar Wilson, Ken Kincade, Kevin Ray, Travis Jones and Eric Young.
