Rita Munsey

Rita Munsey, 70, of Little Rock passed away peacefully with her family present on June 29, 2014. Rita was born on October 3, 1943, daughter of Claren and Lucy Martin. Rita was the loving wife of Ron Munsey for 54 years, loving Mother of three sons, Brian Munsey (Sandy), Blaine Munsey, and Brad Munsey who preceded her in death. She was blessed with two granddaughters, Janie Munsey and Leah Munsey. Rita was also blessed with two step-granddaughters, Jennifer Sorrells and Holly Bogard (Glenn). She had four step-great grandchildren, Jonah, Cassie, Robby and Raegan. Rita had two sisters, Donna Poynter (Bob) from Maumelle, and Glenda Winningham (Jim) from Concord. Glenda preceded her in death. Rita was a beautiful woman both inside and out. She had a great personality and a hearty laugh. She was always cheerful, giving, and loved the Lord. She cherished her family and was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. Rita took a lot of pride in her home and her love for it shined through. Rita will be missed by everyone who knew her. Rita had a love for gospel music instilled by her parents and she attended many singing schools with her two sisters. The "Martin Sisters" sung in many cities in Arkansas. They also sang "pop" songs on a Little Rock dance/music show known as "Steve's Show" on a local TV Station. Funeral services will be held at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway Little Rock, Arkansas (501) 224-8300, on Thursday, July 3rd at 1 p.m. officiated by Rev. Shelby Smith.
