Ruth Marie Hawkins, 90, of Vilonia passed away Saturday, June 28, 2014 in Cabot. She was born December 5, 1923 in Myrtle, Missouri to the late Thomas D. and Lucy Novella Campbell Stubblefield. Marie was a homemaker and worked at Curtis Wright during World War II and at Couch School in Oregon County, Missouri. She loved gardening, making beautiful quilts and entertaining her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 62 years, Chester F. (Joe) Hawkins.
She is survived by her daughters, Melba McKeehan and husband John (Stone) McKeehan of Jacksonville and Kathryn Clark of Greenbriar; her son, Travis Hawkins and wife Deborah of El Paso; five grandchildren, Misty Granade and husband Stephen, Daniel McKeehan and wife Patricia, Angela Williams and husband Blake, Courtney Hawkins, Chrystal Chisholm and husband Eric; 12 great-grandchildren, Eli and Lisa Granade, Austin and Katelyn McKeehan, Wyatt Whitfield, Lily and London Williams, Hunter, Curtis and Elizabeth Sledge, Tanner and Alissa Grace Chisholm, many friends and a large extended family.
Our appreciation and thanks to the staff at Greystone Nursing and Rehab for their care during her stay.
