Howard Wade Williamson, age 94, of Lowell, died July 2, 2014, at Circle of Life Hospice in Springdale. He was born in Lowell on Feb. 2, 1920, to the late Jessie and Nora (McGarrah) Williamson. Howard lived on the land that had been in his family for generations. The same land on which he was given life was later proudly tilled and farmed by him, giving life to plants and vegetables. He was a proud lifelong member of the Lowell Community. Howard served his country in the US Army during World War II in the European theater. He received a Purple Heart and was awarded three Bronze Stars for campaigns in Normandy, Northern France and Rhineland. In addition to being a member of the American Legion Post 274 in Cave Springs, he was a 32nd degree Master Mason, Springdale Lodge 316 Free and Accepted Masons. He was a deacon at First Baptist Church in Lowell, a contributor and member of the J.B. Hunt Senior Activity Center, and was instrumental in the formation of the Fayetteville Farmer's Market. Survivors include his daughters, Linnie Gramling of Springdale, Shannon Kendrick of Rogers; sisters, Mildred Miller of Elm Springs, Reba Gentry of Republic, Mo.; grandchildren, Eric Gramling and Brittany Kendrick; and great-grandchildren, Sam and Ava. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Dean Williamson; and the love of his life, Betty Williamson. Visitation will be 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, July 7, 2014, with services beginning at 11 a.m., at First Baptist Church in Lowell, officiated by Pastor Gary Thomas and Bro. Ben Rowell. Burial will follow in Benton County Memorial Park. Memorials, in lieu of flowers, should be made to First Baptist Church of Lowell, 409 Johnson Ave., Lowell, 72745; or to the J.B.
