Glenn Harrison Hopper of Heber Springs and Marianna, passed away at age 82 on July 6, 2014, at Baptist Memorial Health in Heber Springs. Glenn was surrounded by his wife, children and niece at the time of his passing. Glenn was born November 21, 1931, in Connells Point, Monroe County, Arkansas. He is preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and one sister. Glenn is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patsy Osburn Hopper of Heber Springs and Marianna, and his three sons, David (and wife Shay) of Fayetteville; Scott of Dallas, and Mark of Dallas. Glenn attended Arkansas Tech University in Russellville; served in the United States Army ; farmed in Lee County, AR for almost fifty years, and after retiring from farming, worked for the United States Postal Service as a rural mail carrier. One of Glenn's favorite sayings was "never lose your joy," and despite hardships faced, he lived this every day. Glenn was a passionate fisherman, master gardner, loving husband, exemplary father and wonderful friend. He was a strong believer in faith and family. He and Patsy were avid travelers; wintered at their home in the Woodsmoke Community near Ft. Myers, Florida; attended Mountain Top Cowboy Church in Heber and shared laughter every day. Celebration services will be held at Heber Springs Funeral Home, Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at 2 p.m. The family will greet visitors beginning at 1pm at the funeral home. At a future date, a remembrances and prayers will be shared graveside at the Marianna Memorial Cemetery.
