(Ret.) Sgt. Dewey E. Head, of Benton, 34 passed away Sunday, June 29, 2014. He is survived by his wife, Deana Jo Head; stepdaughter, Audrey Elizabeth Hall, both of Benton, Arkansas; son, Matthew Head of Cabot; brother, James Sandefur and sister-in-law, Edi Sandefur; niece, Star Sandefur, all of Little Rock, Arkansas; mother-in-law, Jeanie Crouch of Benton; and a host of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Joe and Gwen Roberson of Lonoke and father-in-law, Joe D. Crouch of Benton. He is also survived by his father, Ron Head; mother, Judy Head and sister, Amy Workman of Port Orange, Florida. Dewey was a retired sergeant of the U.S. Army who had been mobilized three times, received many honors including the Purple Heart; by the time he was honorably discharged in July of 2014 due to injuries he received in Iraq. Funeral services will be 11 a.m., Monday, July 14, 2014 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home Chapel, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209 (501) 455-5800.
