Mrs. Myrl (Fulbright) Thrash, age 81, of Hope, Arkansas, passed away, Tuesday, July 15, 2014, at Hillcrest Health and Rehab. She was born July 2, 1933, in Melbourne, Arkansas, to O.A. and Ernestine Saffell Fulbright. She was a retired Home Economics Teacher and was a member of the 1st United Methodist Church in Hope. Mrs. Thrash graduated from Mountain View High School in 1950, and the University of Central Arkansas in 1954, with a degree in Home Economics. She was married to Pennix Thrash for 57 years. They lived in Hot Springs, Arkansas for many years before moving to Hope. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and playing bridge, and her greatest joy was taking care of her family. Mrs. Thrash was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Pennix Thrash, sisters, Laneil Gephart, and Louise Ferguson. Mrs. Thrash is survived by her daughter, Frances McAfee and husband Rick, of Hope, son, Tom Thrash and wife Courtney, of Houston, Texas, grandchildren, Kyle McAfee and wife Janna, of Arkadelphia, Blake McAfee and wife Megan, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, Collin Thrash and Camille Thrash of Houston, Texas, and several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Visitation for Mrs. Thrash will be 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, July 16, 2014, at Brazzel/Oakcrest Funeral Home. Graveside service for Mrs. Thrash will be 10 a.m., Thursday, July 17, 2014, at Memory Gardens Cemetery in Hope with Rev. Keenan Williams officiating.
