Thomas Ray Quarles

Thomas Ray Quarles, 70, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2014. He was born October 20, 1943 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas to the late Leonard and Elizabeth (Sorrells) Quarles. Thomas was a Christian and a member of First Baptist Church in Camden, Arkansas. He and Frances loved camping on area lakes and Tom was considered around the campsites as "the camp chef". He also loved hunting and fishing and displayed a green thumb when it came to vegetable and flower gardening. Tom served in the U.S. Air Force for eight and one-half years and served his country proudly in Vietnam. He is preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Carolyn Coniglio. Thomas is survived by his wife, Frances Quarles and son Lance Quarles both of Hot Springs; daughter Sherri Nickolson (Nick) of West Virginia; brother Buddy Quarles (Jane) of Texas; sisters Ann Wade (Glen) of Hope, Liz Woodard (Raymond) of Waldo and Joyce Delk (Richard) of Magnolia and grandchildren Geoffrey and Katelynn Nicholson. A graveside memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, July 20, 2014 at Morning Star Cemetery with Brother Alton Dorey and wife officiating. Guests may register at www.caruth-hale.com.
