Betty Sue Dixon Jones

Betty Sue Dixon Jones, of Benton went to be with her Lord, on Friday, July 18, 2014. She was born in the Richwoods Community near Arkadelphia to G. C. "Shorty" and Nellie Callaway Dixon. Betty was professor at Henderson State University, teaching in the School of Business for many years. While in Arkadelphia, she was very active with Second Baptist Church, Park Hill Baptist Church and the Red River Baptist Association. After retiring to the Benton area, she served on the Executive Board for the T. W. Hunt Ministries and was a active member of First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant. She was preceded in death by her parents; a grandson, Jason Grant; two brothers, Donald Dixon and Dewey Dixon. Betty was a loving wife, mother and grandmother to her husband, Henry Lee Jones; her children, Dr. Randy Jones (Debbie), Marcia Grant (Bro. Benny) and Karen West (Charles) all of Benton; her grandchildren, Brandon Jones, Jeremy West, Brent Jones, Zoey Wells, Brian West, Bethany Petty and Britanni Keeton; and her 18 great-grandchildren. Other survivors include one brother, Grady Dixon of Lake Charles, La.; and one sister, Mary Harris of Hot Springs. Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 22 at First Southern Baptist Church in Bryant with Bro. Patrick Mead, Bro. Benny Grant and Bro. Brian West officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park. The body will lie in state at the church on Tuesday, 1 p.m. until service time. Visitation will be at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia on Monday, 6-8 p.m. Memorials may be made to First Southern Baptist Church Prayer Ministry, 604 S. Reynolds, Rd. Bryant, Ark. 72022.
