William Troy Skinner Sr., 78, of Benton, passed away on July 23, 2014. He was born on September 2, 1935 in Greenbrier, Ark. to Luther and Jessie (Bates) Skinner. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Skinner and his sister, Pauline Murphey. William (Troy as he was known) is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Nadine (Hazlewood) Skinner; sons, Bill (Cindy) Skinner of Mabelvale and Tim (Missy) Skinner of Benton; and sisters, Ruth Minton, Peggy Bradford, Sarah Bray (Porter) and Edith Holiman. Troy was also blessed with six grandchildren; Robert (Crystal) Skinner, Brenda (Johnny) Duggins, Trey Skinner, Cassie (John Davis) Curtis, Amanda Skinner and Casey Skinner. He was also the proud great-grandfather of Jonathan Duggins. Troy is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Troy served in the United States Air Force. He enjoyed being surrounded by his family and friends, playing the guitar, hunting, fishing, camping and spending lots of time with his dog, Lady. Troy was also a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church. The family wishes to thank the doctors and nurses of Baptist Health Medical Center and Saline Memorial Hospital. They also extend a special thank you to Dr. David Griffin and his staff for their excellent care. Troy was much loved by his family and friends and will be missed by all. Visitation will be held at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home in Alexander on Thursday July 24 from 6-8 p.m. A funeral service for Troy will be held at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church on Friday July 25 at 10 a.m., with Richard Hamlin, Muncy Harris and Doug Hambrick ifficiating.
