Eva Counts Carty

Eva Counts Carty, 97, of Pine Bluff, passed away Saturday morning, July 26, 2014, at Trinity Village Medical Center. She was born Feb. 5, 1917, in Pine Bluff, a daughter of the late H.G. Counts and Ruth Rue Counts. She was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church, graduated from Pine Bluff High School, and worked for Fox Brothers as a bookkeeper for many years. Eva was an avid golfer, having been a member of the Rosswood Women's Golf Club. She also loved bowling, bridge club, music, dancing, a good party, traveling and going to the horse races. She was preceded in death by her husband, F.J. (Son) Carty, whom she married July 29, 1944; and her sister, Maxine Bryant. Survivors include two nephews, Martin Carty (Connie), of Pine Bluff, Brian Carty (Beth), of Little Rock; and a niece, Rachel Koops (Dan), of North Little Rock; two great-nephews; one great-niece; one great- great nephew; and one great-great niece. Special thanks goes out to the nurses and care-givers of Trinity Village Medical Center. Their care and compassion has been truly appreciated. Mrs. Carty will be in state Monday evening at Robinson's. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in Bellwood Cemetery with Reverend Susan Carter Wiggins officiating.
