Ruth Marie Allen, 88 of Jacksonville, died Monday, July 28, 2014. Ruth was born February 2, 1926 in Havana, Ark. to the late Ples and Mattie (Blaylock) Harris. She is also preceded in death by her husband, Delmas Allen, a granddaughter, Brittany Oliger, and six siblings. Mrs. Allen was a member of the Church of Christ, and was loving and kind to all who knew her.
She is survived by children Debbie Talley and husband Larry of Jacksonville, Phyllis Boyd and husband Glen of Cabot, Mary Jo House and husband Ronnie of Jacksonville, Cathy McArthur and husband Buddy of Des Arc, Bob Allen and wife Janese of Cabot, and Mark Allen of Jacksonville; 20 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Arkansas Funeral Care, 2620 W. Main St., Jacksonville. Funeral service will be at 10am Friday, August 1, 2014 at the funeral home, with LeRoy Wood officiating. Burial will be at 3 p.m. at Mt. George Cemetery in Yell County. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com.
