Joyce Genell Bennett

Joyce Genell Bennett, 82, of Austin, passed away Thursday, June 5, 2014. She was born November 13, 1931 in Ethridge, Tennessee to the late Howard Ross and Nelcie Gray Young. Joyce was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith. She was a wonderful mother, devoted wife and loved by all. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie William Bennett, Sr. and her sister, Yvonne Kerrn. She is survived by her ten children, Nelcie Leona Alexander of Keyes, California, Avanell Charlene Zimmerle of West Columbia, Texas, Teresa Ann Mendez of Waterford, California, Charlie William Bennett, Jr. of Waterford, California, Ricky Dean Bennett of Ceres, California, Vivian Gail Gibbons of Ceres, California, Linda Kay Sheets of Texarkana, Arkansas, Melissa Sue Alverez of Hughson, California, Joyce Renee Henry of Searcy, Arkansas and Dewayne Bennett of Austin, Arkansas; one sister, Vivian Winfrey and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held from 2-5 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home. Funeral services are 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 9, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Mt.
