Anne Haley Johnston, 81, of Morrilton, departed this life to begin her eternal life with the Lord on June 11, 2014. She was born March 3, 1933 in Dermott, Arkansas to Houston A. Haley and Sarah Lois McQuiston Haley. She was preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Kate Kyle and brother, W.R. Haley. Anne graduated from Dermott High School in 1951. She and Jim J. Johnston married in 1951. She was a devoted wife of over 62 years and beloved mother and grandmother. She was a lifetime member and Elder of the Presbyterian Church, a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church, Morrilton, Arkansas, and a member of the Presbyterian Women and the Kitchen Sunday School Class. While in Little Rock, Anne enjoyed a 16 year career as an Associate Agent for Cal Biggers Company. For the next two years she trained agents to become Associates with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company. She is survived by her loving husband, Jim Johnston and her loving and supportive family: sons, Eric B. Johnston of Chester, Arkansas and James B. Johnston (Beverly) of Chester, Arkansas; daughter, Anne Elizabeth Nelson of Conway, Arkansas; sisters, Nancy LeBlanc (Donald) of Dallas, Georgia, and Sarah Lois Head of Benton, Louisiana; six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 14, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. W. Guy Delaney officiating. Burial will be at Elmwood Cemetery by Harris Funeral Home of Morrilton. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m. Friday, at the funeral home.
