Mrs. Mattye J. Willis, born September 8, 1938 in England, Arkansas to the late Rev. Money A. Kirby and Ann Ida Walls Kirby. Mrs. Willis was former Deputy Director of the Witness Project and was currently employed with the Pulaski County Election Commission. A time breast cancer survivor, her life's passion was to share her testimony so that other women would benefit. Mrs. Willis was a faithful member of Grace Temple Church under the leadership of her Adopted Son and Pastor, Bishop Steven M. Arnold. Mrs. Willis married the late Leonard "Buddy" Willis in 1969 and they shared 32 years of serving each other until his passing in 2001. In addition to her parents and late husband she was preceded in death by her daughter Jewell Ann. Survived by three children Donna Young and Karen Lovelace, Little Rock, and John Hill Jr. Atlanta, Ga.; grandchildren, Jason Lovelace, Billy Drones, Carmisha Carlton, Jessica Lovelace, John Hill III, Stacie and Stephanie Young. Services will be held Saturday, June 14, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Grace Temple Church, 4217 S. Shackleford, Little Rock, Ark. 72204. Family hour Friday, June 13, 2014 at 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at Grace Temple Church. Services entrusted to Premier Funeral Home, 1518 South Battery Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72202.
