Ruby Throgmorton, 84, of Jacksonville, passed away Wednesday, June 11, 2014. She was born Ruby Pearl Lovel on December 13, 1929 in DeSoto, Illinois to Charles and Lula Lovel. She was the oldest of eight children. She married Jimmie Throgmorton on July 3, 1948 and together with their girls they traveled the country in service of the United States Air Force, retiring in Jacksonville in 1968. Through her work at church and her many years at Pinewood Elementary School, she was known affectionately as "Ms. Ruby" to all. She was a longtime member of Chapel Hill Baptist Church and a shining example of Christ's love to all. She was preceded in death by her husband Jim Throgmorton, daughters Peggy Teal, Pamela Throgmorton and son-in-law Larry Teal. She is survived by her daughter, Paula Gwin and husband Kenneth of Jacksonville; daughter-in-law Patricia Teal of Cheraw, S.C.; granddaughter, Christie Brooks and husband Jim of Forsyth, Mo.; grandson, Justin Gwin and wife Mary of Alexander; Kasey Gwin of Springdale, great-granddaughter, Rebecca Brooks of Forsyth, Mo; and brothers, Victor Lovel and wife Sue of Marion, Ill.; and Donald Lovel and wife Judy of Hallidyboro, Ill. Visitation will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Sunday, June 15, 2014 at The Venue at Chapel Hill with Bro.
