William Gerald Jenkins, 70, native of North Little Rock, Arkansas, passed peacefully on Monday, June 9, 2014, after a long battle with Parkinson's. He was born August 13, 1943, in Little Rock, Arkansas, to Faber DeWitt Sr. and Doris Pauline Kirschke Jenkins. "Jerry" married Glenda Gayle Cato on April 22, 1967. Jerry was known for his magnetic personality, his attention to detail and clever wit. He received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Arkansas Fayetteville, and was a dedicated Razorback sports fan. He served his clients alongside his wife, who was known to many as "Gigi," in the insurance industry for several years at Northwestern Mutual of Little Rock. In 2010, they retired together with plans to pursue their passion for traveling the world and spending time with their daughter's family in Louisiana. They both began suffering from dementia soon thereafter. When they were no longer able to care for themselves, Jerry and Glenda moved to Louisiana, in 2012. Their daughter helped care for them while they resided first at Vista Shores New Orleans, and then at Sunrise of Baton Rouge. Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 47 years; his daughter and son-in-law, JudithKaren and Nico Eymard; his two grandchildren, Jillian Annese Dean and Jaclynn Abigail Dean, all of Galliano, La.; and his son, Jonathan Kevin Jenkins. He is also survived by his brother, Faber DeWitt Jenkins Jr. of North Little Rock; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Mary Jenkins of Wynne; brother-in-law, Fred Cato of North Little Rock. Family will receive friends on Friday, June 20, from 10 until 11 a.m., at Victory Baptist Church, in Sherwood. A memorial service celebrating Jerry's life will immediately follow visitation at 11 a.m. at the church. Refreshments and a light lunch buffet will be served in the fellowship hall following the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to be sent to grouprev.com/JerryJenkinsMemorial.
