Athron "Ace" McGhee, age 80, of Oppelo, Ark. passed away, Tuesday, June 17, 2014. He was born June 5, 1934 in Perry, Ark., a son of the late Benjamin Franklin McGhee and the late Birdie Mae Thomas McGhee. He retired from Wards Bus Factory, served in the Navy during the Korean Conflict,and was a member of Portland Missionary Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Sue McGhee of Oppelo; daughter, Kathryn Garcia of Blue Eye, Mo.; son, Robert "Bobby" McGhee of Hattieville; sister, Martha York of Morrilton; brother, Cleadith McGhee of Perry; grandchildren, Colleen, Marcianna, Julia, Josef, Jacob, Faith, and Thomas; four great-grandchildren; step-children, Terry, Rick, Doug, Mona, Jeff, and David; 12 step-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday, June 28, at McGhee Cemetery with Bro. Lindy Davis officiating.
