CATHERINE PEEK WOLF KENNEDY, age 96, passed away peacefully on June14, 2014, in Little Rock, Ark. She was predeceased by her husbands, Dr. Robert E. Wolf, and Bennett Z. Kennedy Jr. of Shreveport, La.
Mrs. Kennedy was born Dec. 10, 1917 in Oxford, La. to Mr. and Mrs. Samuel F. Peek Jr. After graduating from the TriState Nursing School in Shreveport, she served many years as an RN at Charity Hospital in Shreveport, where she met and married Dr. Robert E. Wolf, who was killed in WWII. She subsequently married Bennett Z. Kennedy Jr., who died in 1971.
Later in life, she moved to Little Rock to be near family.
She was also predeceased by son, Richard E. Wolf of San Antonio; brother, Dr. Gordon W. Peek of Baton Rouge; and sister, Dorothy Mayes of Port Neches, Texas.
She is survived by sons, Dr. Robert H. Wolf of Little Rock and wife Judy, Dr. Samuel W. Kennedy of Boston and wife Patricia Cunningham; daughter-in-law, Dr. Charlotte Wolf Austin of San Antonio; brother, Samuel A. Peek of Tulsa; six grandchildren, Robert Wolf, Ashley Mortimer, Terri Lowe, Richard Wolf, Lissa McBurney and Caleb Kennedy; and many great-grandchildren; and nieces.
Mrs. Kennedy was a lifelong Presbyterian and was active in church activities, gardening, and antiquing. She was devoted to her family and to the nursing profession. After retirement, she was able to travel widely and visit the countries she most wanted to see. She lived a full life, engaged in her many interests, which also included a great enjoyment of books and music. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
