Juanita A. Newkirk

Juanita A. Newkirk, 86, passed peacefully into the arms of her heavenly Father on June 22, 2014, after a long bout with Alzheimer's disease. Born April 12, 1928, she was predeceased by her adoptive parents, William Jack and Bessie Aaron. Most of her working career was spent in the insurance profession. Since January 1974, she was an active member of Immanuel Baptist Church in Little Rock where she served in teaching children and visitation. She is survived by her husband of 54 years, F. Ward Newkirk, who has been a faithful caregiver and friend during her recent years of health decline. She is survived also by half-sisters, Frances Midgett Pitts of Wynne and Mary Ann Hill of Forrest City; half-brother, Walter Grisham, of Caldwell, Ark.; and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. The family would like to thank Janie Long and the other caregivers for their faithful support. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014, in the chapel foyer at Immanuel Baptist Church. The service will follow at 11 a.m. in the chapel with burial at Crestview Cemetery in Hot Springs at 2 p.m. Dr. David Moore and Dr. Gary Hollingsworth will preside over the services.
