Deborah Ann Rothman née Thompson passed away after a long illness June21st at the in-patient Hospice facility on Bowman Road with her loving family nearby. She is survived by husband Jerry Rothman, her two sons, Eric and Adam, her grandson Austin, her sister, Carol, and brother, John, and nieces and nephews Marceline, Lance and Andre. Through her illness she was quick to smile and equally as quick to show caring for others. Her will to carry on a meaningful life in spite of setbacks was indomitable and she was successful. Everyone who knew her admired her strength, optimism, and character. In her life Debbie lived in Japan and traveled through Europe spreading her own brand of wit, humor, and love. Debbie was artistic, enjoyed painting, embroidery, reading long books, and traveling, but most of all she adored being with her family. To Debbie her family was the world. She worked for them, cried with them, strengthened them, and in the end, gave them all she had. Sunday mornings would find her drinking coffee, reading the paper, and communing with nature in the garden she loved. Other times she could be found playing with her grandson, Austin, or her great nephews Dylan, Dustyn, Brady, and Aiden. An employee of Little Rock Eye Clinic, Debbie took pride in her work and loved caring for patients. Even with her illness, she managed to go to work cheerfully and enjoyed working with her coworkers. Debbie was born in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1956, to parents Lloyd and Mary Thompson, both deceased. She was a remarkable presence for all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. A memorial service will be held on July 3 at 11 a.m. at Quapaw Methodist Church. www.arkansasfuneralcare.com
