Frances Bishop Cobb

Frances Bishop Cobb, 93, of McGehee, Arkansas died Sunday, June 22, 2014 at Drew Memorial Hospital in Monticello, Ark. Frances was born in Desha County, Arkansas on March 24, 1921 to the late Lorenza and Susie Whitley Bishop. She was a homemaker and loved to garden, sew, and can fruits and vegetables. Frances was a charter member of Chickasaw Baptist Church. Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joe D Cobb. Survivors include her son, Jimmy (Carlene) Cobb of Laurel Park, N.C.; daughters, JoAnn Lampkin of McGehee, Ark. and Shirley Jane May of Monticello, Ark.; sisters, Kathryn Nichols of Dumas, Ark., Dorothy Mauney of Dumas, Ark., and Mary Deckleman of Tyler, Texas; grandchildren, Marty Lampkin, Denon Weaver, Carla Jo Goodman, Mark Cobb, and Keith Cobb and eight great-grandchildren. Visitation will be at 6-7:30 p.m., Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral service in McGehee, Ark. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Griffin-Culpepper Funeral Service Chapel in McGehee, Ark. with Rev. Kenny Hogue officiating. Pallbearers are Billy Cobb, Jr., Leon Cobb, Carrel Sheffield, Ronnie Reed, and Leon Lloyd. Honorary pallbearers are Thomas Weaver and Arlen Casteel. Burial will be at McGehee Cemetery in McGehee, Ark. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chickasaw Baptist Church, 409 Chickasaw Road, McGehee, Ark. 71654.
