Gerald Morris

Gerald Morris, 80, of Piggott passed away Thursday, June 26, 2014, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro. He was the son of the late D.M. "Buster" and Bessie Marie (Ray) Morris. Gerald was currently serving his 12th year as Mayor of Piggott, a longtime member of the First General Baptist Church in Piggott and a Mason with Masonic Lodge #545. Survivors include three sons: Ed Morris and wife Patricia, Alan Morris and wife Pam, and Roger Morris and wife Suzie all of Piggott; daughter, Kathy Ballard and husband David of Piggott; many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren; three brothers: James Morris and wife Wanda of Piggott, Irvin Morris and wife Sue of Paragould, and Gary Morris and wife Sue of Lafe. Services are Saturday, June 28, 2014, at 3 p.m. in the First General Baptist Church in Piggott with Gary Morris and Chris Brantley officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery. Hoggard & Sons Funeral Home of Piggott is in charge of arrangements.
