Wayne B. Thacker

Wayne B. Thacker, 90, was born to James H. and Julia A. (Barger) Thacker on November 10, 1923 in Rose Bud, Arkansas and passed away on Wednesday, June 25, 2014. He was a resident of Bald Knob and a member of the Rocky Point Baptist Church. Mr. Thacker served in the United States Army during World War II. After he was discharged, he worked in the ship yards in California. Later he returned to Arkansas where he became a Dairy Farmer for many years in Rose Bud. He enjoyed gardening, both flowers and vegetables. He loved his family and church family. He had a great sense of humor and always tried to bring a ray of sunlight to everyone. He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Hosea Thacker, two sisters, Lilly Faye Smith and Syble Edwards. He is survived by a son Jimmy D. (Lorlei) Thacker of Bald Knob, a daughter, Reda Louise (Shelton) Bowen of Jacksonville, four grandchildren, Tom (Carol) Bowen, Leigh (Don) Tadlock all of Jacksonville, Natasha (Joe) Richmond of Cabot, Tamara Hydron of Bald Knob, ten great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Iuple Vodde of St. Louis, other relatives and many friends. A Memorial Service will be held at Rocky Point Baptist Church in Judsonia on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at 2 p.m. Arrangements by Roller-Daniel Funeral Home of Searcy.
