Dorothy Marcelle Tacker

Dorothy Marcelle Tacker, 93, of Whitton, Arkansas died February 27, 2014. She was born on September 17, 1920 in Whitton, Arkansas to the late Pete and Gladys Bullard. She was a member of Joiner United Methodist Church and a member of the prayer group of the congregation. She was the Chaplain of the Cleburne Forrest Chapter of the UDC, member of Canasta Club and a member of the Wannabees Bowling Team in Jonesboro. She enjoyed working crossword puzzles, listening to the Gaithers and hunting and fishing. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Cletus Tacker, Sr.; daughter, Linda Joyce Pierce; sister, Grace Mooring; and brother, Roy Bullard. Survivors include her daughters, Frances Brinkley Cowden of Memphis, Ark., Janice Colbert of Whitton, Ark. and Nancy Curtright (Don) of West Helena; sons, Robert Tacker of Whitton and Cletus Tacker Jr. (Judy) of Lepanto; grandchildren, Guy Brinkley, Jr. (Elizabeth) of Nesbit, Miss., Marcelle Nia (Saeed) of Memphis, Tenn., Clay Brinkley (Marina) of Collierville, Tenn., Charles Brinkley (Jean) of Hernando, Miss., Joe Tacker of Whitton, Ark., Judy Meyer (Ben) of Whitton, Ark., Nikki Speer (Jim) of Rector, Ark.; Missy Kitchens (Eddie) of Whitton, Ark., Bret Tacker of Whitton, Ark., Chris Tacker (Jaylene) of Whitton, Ark., Julianne Veach (Brandon) of Manila, Ark., Bruce Colbert (Jennifer) of Osceola, Ark., Rob Colbert (Donna) of Brookland, Ark., Andrea Economou (Nick) of Mohave Valley, Ariz., Trey Tacker of Marion, Ark., Stephanie Pritchard of Lepanto, Ark., Jana Malone (Tim) of Lepanto, Ark., Tim Pierce (Felicia) of Wilson, Ark., Neil Pierce (Heather) of Sherwood, Ark. and Lance Pierce (Shannon) of Jonesboro, Ark.; 66 great-grandchildren, 22 great-great-grandchildren, brother, James Bullard of Rosemark, Tenn.; Sister, Molly Johnston of Okeechobee, Fla.; and sister-in-law, Mary Bullard of Bryant, Ark. Visitation will be from 12 until 2 p.m. Sunday at Roller Citizens Funeral Home in West Memphis, Ark. The funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. with Rev. Ed Wyres and Pastor Janice Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Tyronza Cemetery. In Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Joiner United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 328, Joiner, Ark. 72350.
