Duel Artean "D.A." Fendley, age 88, of the Fendley Community near Amity, died Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Arkadelphia. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Marion Sue Rowe Fendley; four sons, Roy (Jeanie) Fendley and Duel "Tad" (Joanna) Fendley both of Fendley, W. L. "Dub" (Darlene) Fendley and Sammy (Kathy) Fendley both of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Carolyn (Doug) Shell of Arkadelphia; three brothers, C. L. (Adele) Fendley of Bismarck, Reuben (Peggy) Fendley of Arkadelphia, Gerald Fendley of Fendley; three sisters, Gladys Phelan of Dallas, Texas, Fraline Mathis of Sherwood, Julie (Carl) Garrett of Arkadelphia; 13 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5 at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home in Arkadelphia. Interment with military honors will be in Brushy Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Brushy Cemetery Fund, 257 Helms Rd., Arkadelphia, Ark. 71923.
