Viola Reed

Viola Alexander Reed, 90, of Pangburn, passed away Wednesday, March 5, 2014. She was born October 27, 1923 to the late James Sidney and Mary Alice Pope Alexander in Dale, Texas. Viola served in the Navy during WWII when she met and married the late John G. Reed. They were cattle ranchers for 55 years in the McJester Community. Viola was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters and a daughter, Janice Marie Reed. She is survived by three children, Mildred Woodson of Ft. Worth, Texas, John G. Reed, Jr. of Rose Bud, and Harold W. Reed (Janice) of Greenbrier; three grandchildren, Karen Mitchell, Kimberly Shenik (Mike), and Katherine Hollins (Todd), all of Texas; and six great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Interment will be in Luling, Texas. Arrangements by Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
