DOYLE GEAN CHAMBERS, 68, of Little Rock, Ark. passed away of a heart attack at home Wednesday, March 5, 2014. He was born on Aug. 20, 1945 to the late Roy and Adeline Chambers. Doyle served in the United States Army Special Forces in the Vietnam War. He retired from the Postal Service after 37 years of faithful service. Doyle was a member of Henderson United Methodist church. He was an expert craftsman, mechanic and handyman and spent his spare time selflessly lending his skills to friends, family, and community members without being asked. Always athletic, Doyle was an avid golfer and tennis player, cherishing the many close friends he made playing those sports more than the sports themselves. He was a passionate fan of the Arkansas Razorbacks. Along with his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, Orval; and sister, Marvlean. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years, Joanne Chambers; brother, Donald; sisters, Marilyn Adams and Ruth Robinson (Robert); brother, Carl (Terry); sister-in-law, Maxine Simpson (Jim); step-sons, Jaime Watts and Chad Fowler (Kelly). He is further survived by his nephews, nieces, other relatives, and many, many friends. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10 a.m. at Henderson United Methodist Church with Reverend Tom Frase officiating. Burial with military honors will be at 1 p.m. at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery.
