Mona Jo Austin

Mona Jo Austin, 77, of Rogers, Arkansas, went to be with our heavenly father on March 8, 2014. A memorial service will be held Thursday, March 13, 2014 at 1 p.m. at Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East C Avenue, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116, with Dr. Bob Harper officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 12 to 1 p.m. A private graveside service will follow the funeral at Little Rock National Cemetery. Mona was born in Burnett, Texas on July 30, 1936. She was married to Lt. Col. Donald J. "Buck" Austin for 29 years until his passing in 1984. Mona is survived by three children: Gary Austin of Dallas, Texas, Robert Austin of NLR, Ark., and Donna Price of Rogers, Ark.; eight grandchildren: Dayton Austin, Dacia Austin Craig, Leslie Austin, Alicia Austin Smith, Olivia Austin, Melissa Austin, Jay Price and Keith Price; and two great grandchildren, along with a sister, June Whitman, and two brothers, Martin Cox and Jim Cox, all from Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martin V. Cox, Sr. and Stella Riggs-Cox, along with two brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be given to The American Diabetes Association.
