John Larry Mosley, 73, of Russellville, passed away on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Arkansas Hospice River Valley Home in Russellville. He was born September 19, 1940, in Russellville, to John Logan and Kathryn Lena Williams Mosley. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Russellville where he served as a deacon, was a member of Gideons International, the Kiwanis Club, the Wild Cat Hollow Hunting Club and the Arkansas Furniture Association. He was the owner/operator of Home Furniture in Russellville for 50 years, and served in the Arkansas Air National Guard as a Staff Sergeant. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Jim Bill Mosley. Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Margaret Mosley; two sons, Kevin Mosley and Kirt Mosley, both of Russellville; a special family friend, Brad Ward of Morrilton; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Ernie and Jamie Hodges; a brother-in-law, Tom Roberts, M. D.; his mother-in-law, Ruth Roberts; a niece, Tamara Laws and her husband, Hugh; a nephew, Michael Hodges and his wife, Lele; a great-nephew, Harrison Laws; and two great-nieces, Alix Ann Laws and Elle James Hodges. The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2014, at First Baptist Church, officiated by the Rev. Stephen Davis and the Rev. Greg Sykes. Burial will be in Rest Haven Memorial Park, under the direction of Shinn Funeral Service of Russellville. Active pallbearers will be Michael Hodges, Hugh Laws, Harrison Laws, Gayle Terry, Carl Boxnick, Jim Parker, Aaron Skelton, Buddy Babbs, Brian Spillers, John Jennings and Randall Crouch. Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie Hodges, Tom Roberts, James R. Ford, Billy Newton, Steve Rogers, Bill Yarbrough, Lou Vitale, C.L. Davis, Ronnie Paul Jones, Bill Smith, Pete Bonds, Dick Berryman, James Mackey, Hilton Wimbs, H.L. Shepherd and Alvin Purdy. The family received friends on Tuesday evening, from 4:30-6:00 p.m., at the funeral home.
