On Monday, March the 10th, Ronald S. Oxley, 77 of Cabot Arkansas, left this world to begin his greatest adventure to the realm of the Lord in Heaven. He began his journey from White County Medical Center in Searcy. To see him off were his loving wife Gerie Marie Oxley, and his children Dennis Oxley (Deborah), Doug Oxley (Denise) & Elizabeth Scroggins, all of Little Rock. In addition to them, he leaves behind his sister, Sharlene Beil (Darrell) of Edmond Oklahoma, four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren who knew him as "Rock", and many other extended family members and friends. His destination will reunite him with his mother Lois and father Joe Oxley, whom departed earlier. Ronald started his journey on earth in Keys, Oklahoma October 24th, 1936, where he grew up in neighboring Tahlequah. His family later moved to Tulsa, Oklahoma. A skill he mastered, starting with his academic tenure at Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, through to Oklahoma State University in Stillwater, graduating with a degree in HVAC Engineering. His job experience started with Johnson Controls, and then progressed through Wade Co., Fagan Electric, and finally with USA Comfort Systems in Sherwood Arkansas until his retirement in the mid 2000s. His interest were in athletics, including a passion for golf. As a member of the Rolling Hills Country Club in Cabot, he was a 'member' of their hole-in-one club. Ronald was also an avid fisherman, master griller and was undoubtedly the University of Arkansas Razorbacks' most enthusiastic fan... baseball, basketball and of course, football. He loved to travel. his favorite destinations were the Hawaiian Islands and the West indies, especially Jamaica, which he frequented with his traveling companion, Gerie. Other interest where music. As a young boy he played the drums in a local 'Rockabilly' band. His favorite artist were Willie Nelson, Waylon Jennings, George Thorogood, The Allman Brothers and Carlos Santana. A Memorial Service in celebration of his life will be held Saturday, March 15th, 1:00 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway,Little Rock, Ark. 72211 (501 )224-8300.
