Jeanette Magness Stubblefield

Jeanette Magness Stubblefield of Cottage Grove, Ore., formerly of Dermott, Arkansas died Monday, March 3, 2014. She was born Jan 3, 1934 at Newark, Ark. to her late parents, Paul and Ruby Magness. After graduation from Dermott High School she enlisted in the US Air Force and was assigned duties at the Pentagon, Alexandria, Va. Upon completion of her enlistment she returned to Pine Bluff, AR and was employed by Jefferson County School District until she retired. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by an infant son, Phillip Vincent Mesa. She is survived by a daughter, Laura Beth Pendergrass and a grand-daughter, Ariele Pendergrass of Cottage Grove, Ore. Other immediate survivors include five sisters and three brothers; Juanita Robertson, Monticello, Ark., Evelyn Roark, Jennie, Ark., Carolyn Bowden, Yuma, Ariz., Helen Bunch, Pine Bluff, Ark., Tom Magness, Bentonville, Ark., Dolores Cornelius, Monticello, Ark., Winston Magness, Terry, Miss. and Ronnie Magness, Mt Ida, Ark. and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was a member of Dermott Baptist Church. A memorial service will be held at Dermott Baptist Church, Saturday, March 15, 2 p.m. with Pastor Tom Cunningham officiating. Arrangements are by Bishop Funeral Home of Lake Village. Memorials may be sent to Dermott Baptist Church or Dermott Cemetery.
