William H. "Bill" Price, 86, of Benton, began walking on streets of gold March 12, 2014. Born in 1927 to William and Annis Staton Price in Malvern, Ark. He was retired from Alcoa after 33 years and was a deacon and member of Holland Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. He was active as a church leader all of his life. He was a Sunday School Superintendent, church treasurer, and Deacon for over 50 years, and Deacon Emeritus. Bill volunteered for 17 years as the supervisor of Holland Chapel Food Service for all church meals, bereavement foods and had many volunteer assistants. He was preceded in death by first wife, Ruth Pettitt Price, the mother of his children. Bill is survived by his loving wife of 36 years, Clara Price; two daughters, Karen Price Bell and husband Larry and Kimla Price Carter and husband Ronnie; nine grandchildren, James Bell and wife Kim, Joshua Bell and wife Ashley, Laura Bell Patrom and husband Scott, Leslie Dicus Bell and husband Kenric, Lindsey Dicus Sallinger and husband Thomas, Leeanna Dicus Millar, Bethany Carter, Kellie Carter Crutchfield and husband Wesley, and Hannah Carter; sixteen great-grandchildren; as well as many other family members and friends who loved Bill and will miss him always. Funeral service directed by Smith Family Funeral Home and officiated by Rev. Jason Tallent and Rev. Kim Hammer will be Friday, March 14th, 2014, 3:00 p.m., Holland Chapel Baptist Church. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. Private burial will be held at a later date. Serving as honorary pallbearers are Dan Foreman, David Pruitt, Crusader Sunday School Class and the Deacons of Holland Chapel.
