Maxine Mildred Martin

Maxine Mildred Martin, 88, of Benton, passed away March 13, 2014. She was born September 19, 1925 in Traskwood, Arkansas to the late Lee Roy and Eunice Crooks Callahan. Maxine was of the Baptist faith. She worked for Arkansas State Hospital for over 24 years, 15 of which she worked as an L.P.T.N. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Leroy and John Callahan, and sister, Juanita Callahan. Maxine is survived by her husband, B.J. Martin of Benton, sons, Bennie Joe Martin (Joyce) of Lufkin, Texas, Don Edward Martin (Laurie) of Hot Springs, Stephen Gwen Martin of Lonsdale, sisters, Martha Ward (Mike) of Fayetteville, Betty Green (Lyndon) of Benton, sister in law, Lois Martin of Benton, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Grandsons and Granddaughters will be included in serving as Pallbearers. Chapel services by Ashby Funeral Home will be 2 p.m. Saturday with burial to follow at Mt. Harmony Cemetery in Haskell.
